bobbin lace arrived in Brazil through Portuguese customs. The art appeared in Portugal in 1560 and was restricted to convents serving liturgical ornamentation and, later, the practice was expanded among women in the region. Present in the Northeast of Brazil and in the South (Santa Catarina).
